Saskatoon police are searching for four people after two saxophones were stolen from a Long and McQuade store last week.

Surveillance footage from the store’s 43rd Street location shows the thefts occurred on Friday, according to police.

The first saxophone was stolen just after 4 p.m. when a man — wearing a black shirt, black pants, an overcoat and dark-rimmed glasses, and described as white-haired, Caucasian and between 45 and 55 years old — entered the store, removed his overcoat and hid a saxophone underneath the coat before leaving the area.

The second theft happened about 10 minutes later, police said. A man and woman entered the store followed shortly after by a fourth person. The fourth person — described as a man in his 20s with a light brown beard — removed a saxophone from the wall, hid it under his hoodie and left the store while the other two people stood between staff and the alleged thief.

The man who police said grabbed the saxophone from the wall was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie with grey stripes and the hood up. He was also wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans, sunglasses and a black ball cap.

The man who entered the store with the woman and who was blocking the view of staff is described as a Caucasian man in his late 20s, weighing about 275 to 300 pounds. He was wearing a white Ecko sweatshirt, shorts and a dark ball cap.

The woman is described as Caucasian, between 140 and 150 pounds and in her late 20s or early 30s. She was wearing a white sweater and blue jeans and had reddish brown hair.

The stolen saxophones are described as Selmer brand, Paris series 3, alto saxophones.
