Saskatchewan and snow are synonymous. And while citizens of Saskatoon are hearty, the snow dump this year has led to more than a few problems already this year – and it could lead to more come spring.

Experts say a big snow melt could mean more work for city crews to keep the roads in good condition. To try and avoid extra potholes, city crews will start clearing snow banks on Saskatoon’s main roads next week.

In the meantime, the snow is still causing trouble now. In some cases, fire hydrants are blocked by snow backs, and some from the city are questioning whether or not their dump site will be able to handle the entire year’s downfall.
