A 16-year-old has been charged in connection to a shooting on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band earlier this month in which a gun was fired at a taxi.

RCMP say the boy was arrested Tuesday and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, assault with a weapon and breach of undertaking.

The alleged shooting occurred early in the morning Sept. 11. According to police, officers were called to Royal Street around 12:25 a.m. A gun had been fired at a taxi that was at a home in the area.

No one was injured.

The accused youth is set to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Thursday.
