A 21-year-old woman was able to escape unharmed after an attempted robbery at the University of Saskatchewan Friday night.

Police were called to campus around 6:15 p.m. A woman was approached by a man who attempted to rob her.

He produced a knife, police said. She was knocked to the ground.

A passerby intervened before she was harmed and before anything was stolen, and the suspect fled.

The suspect left towards the river on a bright orange BMX-style bike with black handle bars. He is described as a Caucasian man in his early 20s with shaggy brown hair. He was wearing a dark hoodie.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
