An overnight snowfall left Saskatoon area highways in poor condition Tuesday morning.

The Highways Hotline reported winter driving conditions for highways within the region due to icy conditions, heavy snow and reduced visibility.

Travel was not recommended early Tuesday on Highway 11 both north and south of Saskatoon, as well as Highway 12 north of the city, Highway 5 heading east toward Humboldt and Highway 7 west toward Rosetown and Kindersley, but the warnings were removed shortly before 9 a.m.

Drivers are urged to check the latest conditions on the Highway Hotline before heading out on the road or on Twitter at @SKGovHwyHotline.
