Two evening fires broke out in the Westmount neighbourhood Tuesday evening, and police have found the culprit.

Police determined the person responsible was a seven-year-old boy.

The first fire happened in the 200 block of Avenue L North where a mattress fire spread to a garage. Shortly after, fire crews were called to another blaze on Avenue K North. It broke out in the late afternoon between two garages and spread to both structures.

There were no injuries in either fire.

Police said the boy is too young to be charged, but he has to enroll in the firestop program with Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services.
