Residents of Saskatoon woke up to snow Monday morning. The big question is, is it here to stay?

According to CTV Weather Specialist Jeff Rogstad, the white stuff won’t linger around.

“Southern Saskatchewan is expected to get more snow today,” explained Rogstad. “Saskatoon and area does have an outside chance of rain over the next 24 to 48 hours, but no snow.”

Environment Canada echoes that sentiment, saying snow likely won’t be sticking around for at least a couple of weeks.

“The temperatures are still rising above the zero mark,” said John Paul Cragg, Warning Preparedness Meteorologist for Environment Canada. “It looks like they’ll be rising above the zero mark for the next couple of weeks so it doesn’t look like we’ll have snow that sticks around for at least the next couple of weeks.”

This time last year, Saskatoon did get hit with snow and it ended up staying for the rest of the year.fall happened on this day last year, but melted. Two days later, snow came, and stayed all winter.
