A Saskatoon cancer charity’s 25th anniversary this year may be its last.

A letter addressed to members of HOPE Cancer Help Centre says, at the charity’s annual general meeting Nov. 20, members will discuss how to dissolve the charity.

The charity’s board has been dealing with urgent financial matters, the letter reads. A staff member says they’ve had difficulty fundraising.

HOPE helps cancer patients cover costs that other health or social agencies don’t cover. The charity hosts the “Race for Recovery” every year to support the organization.

HOPE is set to celebrate its 25th year this weekend.
