Saskatoon police are searching for a suspect after an attempted robbery on Friday evening.

Just before 9:00 p.m., police were called to a business in the 100 block of Primrose Drive to a report of an attempted robbery.

There, police learned a man produced a note demanding money from an employee at a kiosk within in the business, and made reference to an explosive device nearby. According to police, when the employee refused the suspect’s demand, the suspect grabbed the note and ran from the business.

Numerous police units, as well as a K9 unit, responded to the call. Officers searched the area, but did not find the suspect or an explosive device. Police continue to investigate. No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately five feet 10 inches to six feet tall, about 220 lbs. and between 30 and 35 years old.

He was wearing a dark, windbreaker-type jacket, and was carrying a brown paper bag.
