The Saskatoon Police Service was kept busy early Sunday morning after responding to four separate reports of armed robberies in just over an hour.

Officers first responded just a little after midnight to a business in the 400 block of Kenderdine Road. Police said a male suspect entered the store with a knife and demanded money, but left when other customers arrived. The suspect is described as an indigenous man, about 25 to 30 years old, with a slim build. At the time, he was seen wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Shortly after, around 12:30 a.m., police received another call to an establishment in the 700 block of Central Avenue. This time, a man had entered a store with a sharp object that police are describing as either a shard of glass or a broken mirror. The suspect demanded cash, but police said the store clerk refused. Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man in his early 20’s with a slim build. He was last seen fleeing the area on foot westbound on 108th Street. He was wearing glasses, a hoodie with the hood up, black sweat pants, and running shoes.

About 45 minutes later, police responded to a third armed robbery incident. Just after 1:15 a.m., a man entered a store with a knife in the 1300 block of Eighth Street East. He demanded money and liquor and was last seen traveling on foot westbound. Police describe him as indigenous, wearing all black with a purple bandana over his face.

At the same time, officers received a final report from a couple who had been walking on Main Street near Wiggins Avenue. Police said the pair was approached by two men who sprayed them with pepper spray and attempted to steal the woman's purse. Both suspects ran off eastbound. Police said the suspect with the pepper spray was wearing a toque.

Other than the temporary effects of pepper spray felt by the couple on Main Street, police said there were no injuries related to any of the incidents. Police also mentioned that no money, liquor, or property was obtained by any of the suspects involved. Canine teams were on scene in each case, but no arrests have been made while investigations continue.

If you have any information on any of the incidents, you’re asked to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Saskatoon Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
