RCMP say a 44-year-old Saskatoon man has died in hospital after a fight outside a bar in Martensville earlier this month.
Around 1:30 a.m. on April 5, police responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of the Adobe Inn on Centennial Street.
When officers arrived, they found an unconscious man suffering from a head injury.
The man — since identified by RCMP as Vance Labrecque — was taken to Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital, where he died of his injuries while in intensive care Saturday morning.
Morgan Kendall Upton, 20, of Martensville was charged with aggravated assault shortly after the incident.
Mounties say the matter will be referred to the Crown, which will consider upgrading the charge.
