A 28-year-old Saskatoon man is facing several weapons charges after a school was locked down Monday.

Pleasant Hill was locked down late Monday afternoon after police received reports that a man was walking in the area carrying a gun.

Officers were first called to the 200 block of Avenue S South around 3 p.m. before a second caller reported seeing a man matching the suspect’s description on Avenue R.

An investigation led police to an apartment in the 1800 block of 22nd Street West, where they apprehended the suspect. Three pellet guns, ammunition and body armour were found in the apartment.

The 28-year-old was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, carrying a concealed weapon and three counts of breaching of weapons prohibition.

He appeared in court Tuesday morning.
