The City of Saskatoon has launched a new app that will allow transit users to see the location of their bus in real time.

“We are very excited to announce that real time transit tracking is available on all scheduled Saskatoon Transit routes,” Jim McDonald, Director of Saskatoon Transit said in a written release. “This is great news for our customers because it gives them the power to better plan their day with less fear of missing the bus.”

Transit App and Google Transit, which was developed by a third party, uses GPS information to let customers know how many minutes until the next bus arrives at their stop. The city hopes future updates will include in app notifications on transit news, detours, and delays.

The app is available now in the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
