One of Saskatoon’s longest running festivals is ready to go for the 33rd year. Folkfest begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.

Set up is mostly complete at the 16 Folkfest pavilions while volunteers work on last minute preparations.

One of the newest groups this year is representing Oromo, the largest region of Ethiopia. Zwedi Wayiessa is one of the dozens of volunteers will be working together to bring this newest culture to festival goers.

“This is the first time. We would like to show our culture, food, and everything so we have performances, food, cultural displays and a coffee ceremony.”
