Saskatoon firefighters are investigating after responding to a fully involved house fire early Friday morning.
It happened just before 1:45 a.m., when The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call from people living at 1014 Carr Cresecent. The caller stated that their home was on fire.
Three engines initially responded to the area and found a single-story home fully involved with flames coming from the front and side of the home. In a news release, Saskatoon fire said that the blaze extended to the neighbouring house at 1018 Carr Crescent.
All five occupants and one pet had evacuated the initial home on fire at 1014 Carr Crescent. The Saskatoon Fire Department said strong wind gusts prompted the first arriving Incident Commander to call for a second alarm. Two additional pumps, a ladder truck, and a rescue truck were dispatched to the scene.
Fire crews were able to attack the fire from the exterior of the home at 1014, and prevented the blaze from spreading further to neighbouring homes. The fire was brought under control just before 2:30 a.m., according to The Saskatoon Fire Department.
No one was injured as a result of the fire. Investigators estimate the damage at $525,000.
