Saskatoon firefighters needed hydraulic tools to rescue a driver trapped in a crashed SUV Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the single-vehicle rollover at Highway 16 and Marquis Drive at about 4:50 p.m.

A man was trapped in the SUV, which rolled and was left sitting upright in the ditch.

He was the lone occupant in the vehicle, according to the Saskatoon Fire Department.

The department was not sure the extent of his injuries, but said the man was taken to hospital.
