Children in the pediatric ward of Prince Albert's Victoria Hospital recieved a special surprise - a visit by the Prince Albert Raiders - and hundreds of teddy bears.

The bears were collected at the Raiders annual Teddy Bear Toss game against Regina on November 30th. After the Raiders scored their first goal, fans tossed the stuffed animals onto the ice.

"It definitely feels good to see the kids with the teddy bears" said Mike Winther, the Raider that scored the teddy bear goal. "The kids look up to us, and its good for us to give them something back".

The bears are much appreciated by the pediatric wards manager, Jane Antoine.

"Teddy bears are wonderful, they're cuddly, and we share them with the kids. Its not great to be in hospital, but you get to cuddle a warm bear, and we can't appreciate it enough. Thank you so much to the Raiders".

The pediatric ward currently cares for 14 children, who will each recieve a bear. The remaining toys will be kept for the almost 1200 children that stay in the ward each year.
