The Saskatchewan government has agreed to provide more than $1.2 million for repairs to Prince Albert’s Diefenbaker Bridge.

Repairs to concrete barriers, splash guards, guard rails and pedestrian walkways will be funded through the agreement between the province and the city.

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure will fund the full cost of fixing the bridge, while the city will be responsible for managing the project.

Over the past four years, the government has provided about $5 million for Diefenbaker Bridge projects, including emergency repairs in 2011 and an underwater pier inspection in 2014.
