Charges have been laid after a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead on a highway near Prince Albert.

On Sept. 8, police and emergency crews were called to Highway 2 North after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, which then fled.

The pedestrian, a 58-year-old man from Montreal Lake, Sask., was pronounced dead at the scene. RCMP say they will not be releasing his name.

A 34-year-old Prince Albert woman has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death. The woman is also charged with public mischief. She is scheduled to appear in court in Prince Albert on Oct. 30.
