A 24-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges after two people were stabbed in Prince Albert Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to a disturbance at the 1400 block of 28th Street East around 4 p.m. When officers arrived, they were told a man who had stabbed two people was attempting to flee the scene.

Officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect without incident, Prince Albert police said in a media release.

The two victims, a 60-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man both suffering from stab wounds, drove themselves to Victoria Hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The accused Prince Albert man was set to appear in provincial court Tuesday. He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and breaching probation, police said.
