A Prince Albert woman sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries after an assault last weekend is now in stable condition at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton.
Marlene Darlene Bird, 47, was the victim of a violent assault around 10:00 a.m. June 1 on the 1200 block of Prince Albert’s First Avenue West. She was located by a citizen picking bottles who then flagged down another person who called 911, according to police.
She was transported to Victoria Union Hospital in Prince Albert before she was stabilized and then sent to Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital in critical condition. She’s now in Edmonton, listed as stable.
No one has yet been arrested in connection with the assault.
Investigators are still conducting interviews and reviewing security footage, according to a police media release. Officers are requesting public assistance accumulating additional footage.
