SaskPower says electricity consumption during Earth Hour remained constant.

Spokesman Tyler Hopson says any drop between 8:30 and 9:30 on Saturday night was offset by increases throughout the hour.

Earth Hour encourages people, businesses and cities to shut off lights for one hour on the last Saturday of March.

Hopson says the outcome was typical for Earth Hour in Saskatchewan despite the company's efforts to encourage people to reduce power consumption.
