A Saskatchewan potash mine is facing a temporary shutdown,

PotashCorp says its Lanigan mine will shut down between Sept. 15 and Oct. 13 as part of the company’s effort to match supply with demand.

A company spokesman says demand is usually down at that time and there is enough potash stockpiled if demand picks up.

It is not clear yet how many of the 600 workers at the mine will be laid off.
