Police used a beanbag gun and a Taser to force two women out of a stolen vehicle early Monday morning.

Patrol officers say they spotted a stolen vehicle just before 4:30 a.m. in the area of 21st Street and Avenue L.  The car had been reported stolen from Prince Albert earlier this month and was later stopped at Avenue E North and 26th Street.

Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Sturgeon Lake who exited the vehicle without incident. Meanwhile, two 29-year-old women refused to exit the vehicle and comply with officer instrucitions. Police say they used a taser and a beanbag gun to force them out of the car and arrest them.

The trio is now facing charges of stolen property and one woman was found to be in possession of marijuana. All three people were checked over and cleared by M.D. Ambulance.  Each of them will appear in court later on Monday.

The Saskatoon Police Service says it will review the incident as it always does when officers use force to arrest suspects.
