Police were kept busy on Monday evening responding to crashes around the city.

Five vehicles were involved in a crash on Circle Drive just north of the 14 St. overpass. The driver of a vehicle traveling on Circle Drive lost control and spun out on the icy surface, eventually coming to rest against a concrete barrier.

Four other vehicles were also involved in minor crashes while trying to avoid the first vehicle. One person was treated on scene for a minor injury.

Police were also called to Diefenbaker Drive and 22 St. after a two vehicle crash just after 8:15 p.m.

According to police, a vehicle traveling westbound on 22 St. made a left turn in front of a vehicle traveling east on 22 St.

Three people were checked at the scene, but no serious injuries have been reported.

A 28-year-old Saskatoon woman has been charged with failing to yield.

Around 11:00 p.m. police responded to Clarence Avenue and Circle Drive after a car that had been stolen from a bar earlier in the evening ran a red light and hit another vehicle.

The driver fled the scene on foot, but was located a short distance away and was arrested. He was taken to hospital with minor lacerations to his face.

The driver, a 28-year-old man from St. Louis, Sask. is facing a variety of charges, including theft, hit and run, and driving while impaired.

No one else was injured as a result of the crash.
