Saskatoon police are investigating the city’s third homicide of the year after a 24-year-old man injured Wednesday died in hospital.

Officers responded Wednesday at about 1 p.m. to a report of an injured man at an apartment on the 100 block of Avenue O South. A man with life-threatening injuries was taken to hospital, police said in a media release.

He died at about 9:45 a.m. Thursday.

No arrests have been made, according to police.

Details are so far sparse, but officers with the forensic identification unit, the targeted enforcement unit, the guns and gangs unit, the major crimes unit as well as patrol police are investigating.

An autopsy is set for Monday.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
