Several people were attacked with bear spray early Saturday morning, according to Saskatoon police.

Officers responded shortly before 1:30 a.m. to an assault with a weapon call at a business on the 600 block of 11th Street East. The caller stated several people were bear sprayed by an unknown person.

Paramedics were on scene when police arrived decontaminating several people, including two that were directly sprayed.

Several others were assisted by paramedics due to their exposure to the residual spray inside the business, police said.

Officers do not yet know the reason for the assault. Victims and witnesses were unable to provide police with information on the suspect.
