Two people are in custody after a pursuit in Saskatoon on Sunday evening.

Police say one of their patrol cars tried to stop a vehicle in the area of 32nd Street West and Avenue E North.

The driver didn’t stop, and a short chase ensued. Officers say they deployed a spike belt, which flattened the tires on the suspect vehicle.

The two people in the car then fled on foot.

Police brought in a canine team, and the dog was successful in tracking down the two suspects.

A man and a woman were arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, driving while prohibited, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public, and breach of court order.
