The city is moving forward with two major plans to revitalize downtown.

A piece of land beside the farmer’s market was sold to a British Columbia company that specializes in condo developments. The company still needs to get approval from the city before the deal is finalized.

“We see this as a great opportunity for Saskatoon,” said Randy Pshebly from Riversdale Business Improvement District.

Meanwhile, a Vancouver company held public consultations for the development of a north downtown community. Perkins and will said they hope to transform the area into a showpiece of urban development.

After the consultations are complete, the company will present a options for the cite to the city in March.
