One person is dead after a pickup truck and gravel truck crashed on a central Saskatchewan highway Friday afternoon.

RCMP were called to Highway 20, near St. Benedict, just before 3 p.m. One person was pronounced dead at the scene while two passengers were transported to hospital in Humboldt for moderate injuries, police said in a media release.

RCMP did not clarify which vehicle the deceased, whose name has yet to be released, was in during the crash.

One driver was uninjured.

St. Benedict is located 100 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
