A 24-year-old man from Flying Dust First Nation is dead after he was allegedly struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning.

Meadow Lake RCMP responded to the collision just before 5 a.m. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is set to take place next week.

RCMP say the vehicle did not remain at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

The incident occurred about 20 kilometres east of Meadow Lake on the Matchee-Neeb Road. Along with Meadow Lake RCMP, members of Saskatoon Major Crime Unit, North Battleford Forensic Identification Services, Saskatoon Collision Reconstruction and North Battleford Geographic Information Systems are assisting with the investigation.
