The Prince Albert pulp mill is now contributing to the SaskPower grid.

According to Prince Albert mayor Jim Scarrow, the plant is producing power from the mill's bio-mass boiler and power turbine and the company is now selling back that power.

About 45 employees were hired to operate the power generation plant. The progress is just another step toward the idled pulp and paper mill’s conversion to a dissolving pulp mill that will be used to produce rayon.
