Firefighters are still working to determine the causes of two overnight fires in Saskatoon.

The fire department was called to the first blaze around 11 p.m. Friday. A shed at 3035 Miners Avenue was reportedly on fire and closing in on nearby propane tanks.

The shed was completely engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived, according to a media release from the fire department. “Fortunately the propane tanks were not a concern.”

The flames were under control in less than five minutes.

The second call came in just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Heavy flames and smoke were coming from the rear of a house at 106 Avenue N South.

Crews halted the blaze before entering the home and finding no one was inside. The fire was under control in about 20 minutes.

No one was injured in either fire. Investigators are still working to find the causes and determine damage estimates.
