A 55-year-old man is dead after a house fire early Sunday morning in Saskatoon.
One of the residents of the house, located on the 1800 block of Cumberland Avenue South, ran to a neighbour’s house to call for help.
Saskatoon fire fighters responded to the call at around 5:30 a.m. and learned en route that someone may have still been inside the home.
A man was pulled from the basement of the house but died while being taken the hospital.
No one else was injured in the blaze. Firefighters managed to extinguish a fire in the furnace room.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
