Work on the new North Commuter Parkway and Traffic Bridge project is on time and budget, according to the City of Saskatoon.

The North Commuter Parkway is taking shape - structural steel and girders are in place and east pier is complete. The twinning and reconstruction of Central Avenue North, off Attridge drive, is ongoing with new southbound lanes opening up earlier this summer.

“We made a priority of getting it done as fast as we could,” Dan Willems, the city’s director of major projects said. “We got lucky with the weather last year and we were able to get that wrapped up, so for the most part the work on Attridge Drive is complete with the exception of sound wall construction.”

The commuter parkway will connect the Marquis Industrial area to neighbourhoods in the east.

The trusses at the Traffic Bridge are in place and crews are working on the Saskatchewan Crescent overpass and retaining walls in Rotary Park.

Both bridges are set to open October of 2018.
