No charges will be laid in the recent death of a three-year-old girl struck by a vehicle on the Mosquito First Nation, according to RCMP.

The girl was hit by a vehicle July 29 at a residential property in the community, located about 30 kilometres south of Battleford, Sask. She died in a Saskatoon hospital Aug. 1.

The lone man driving the vehicle was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, according to RCMP.

Police said Wednesday charges will not be laid. RCMP consulted with the North Battleford Crown Attorney’s office to determine there was no criminal element to the collision, a police media release stated.
