The trial of two men accused of killing a Prince Albert teen is underway.

Jordan Herron and Orren Johnson’s trial opened Monday with the selection of 14 jurors, including two alternates.

Both men are charged with first-degree murder in the April 2014 death of 17-year-old Clayton Bear. Bear was shot at a home on the 500 block of 27th Street East and later died in hospital.

Herron and Johnson have both pleaded not guilty.

Johnson has been in custody since he was charged in May 2014, while Herron was released on bail last July.

The Crown is set to present its case Thursday and the trial is expected to last four weeks.
