Mother meets paramedics who helped her give birth on highway five years ago

A Saskatchewan woman who gave birth on the Yellowhead Highway five years ago was finally able to thank the paramedics who helped her deliver her twin boys.

Samantha Warren and her sons met paramedics Luc Duval and Tom Barbier at MD Ambulance’s Michael Dutchak Center in Saskatoon on Friday.

The mother, pregnant with twins, was en route to Royal University Hospital from North Battleford on March 28, 2011, when she went into labour. She delivered her son Aiden in the back of an ambulance with the help of Duval and Barbier.

“Now seeing them, I kind of recognize the faces a little bit,” Warren said of meeting the paramedics Friday. “I’m just grateful that I get to do this. I get to meet them… and say thank you to them for everything that they did.”

Her other twin son, Kayden, was born about 45 minutes later in hospital.

The boys, along with their older brother, joined their mother in meeting the two paramedics.
