Mosaic is putting its Colonsay mine back in production nearly six months after idling operations amid a weak fertilizer market.

The company says the 330 employees who were laid off in July were back at work by Dec. 5.

The decision to idle the mine was temporary, according to Mosaic. The company is expecting a stronger year for the potash industry in 2017 and is not anticipating an idle of the Colonsay mine this year.

The mine is expected to again produce potash by mid-January.
