Three people are facing more than 70 charges in connection with multiple break-ins to businesses in Saskatoon.

Police say 26 businesses were broken into and cash or safes were stolen between March 2 and May 19.

An investigation found in most cases, entry was made to the businesses by smashing windows or glass doors.

The three are also facing charges of theft under $5000.

A suspect vehicle was identified and investigators believe a license plate was stolen and placed on the suspect vehicle before each break and enter.

On Thursday, a 34-year-old man, a 32-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman appeared in court on charges of possession of stolen property.

They were arrested after officers reported a vehicle suspected of being involved in the break and enter incidents.

The man and woman were arrested again following their release after appearing on the initial charges.

A second 37-year-old woman was also taken into custody without incident.

Search warrants were served at a home on Leif Erickson Place and for a Pontiac Montana van as a part of the investigation.

All three people are expected to appear in court Friday.
