Seven people are facing charges after La Ronge RCMP seized over 90 grams of cocaine Thursday.

The cocaine — alongside hydromorphone pills, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash — was recovered after Mounties stopped a vehicle south of La Ronge and after officers searched a home on the Lac La Ronge First Nation.

Four people were arrested during the traffic stop and three more were arrested at the residence, RCMP said in a media release.

The vehicle, which was stopped on Highway 2 about 22 kilometres south of La Ronge around 1 a.m. Thursday, was searched later that morning after police obtained a warrant.

The seven charged — Trevor McCallum, Tyler Johnnie, Justin Whitebear, Elena Mirasty, Devon Ratt, Garrett Ross and Tom Cook — were all charged with numerous counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and appeared in La Ronge provincial court Friday. They range in age from 18 to 36.
