A pair of armed robberies at Broadway Avenue businesses Thursday night saw suspects get away with cash.

The first was at Broadway Avenue and 12th Street when a man with a handgun entered a business at approximately 7:40 p.m. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, Saskatoon police said in a news release. No one was injured in the robbery.

Twenty minutes later, two males in their late teens or early 20s armed with a knife and pepper spray demanded cash from a business located in the Avalon Mall at the south end of Broadway Avenue.

Police are looking into whether the robberies are connected.
