Saskatoon police are investigating after a 21-year-old man was reportedly struck and robbed of his vehicle on campus Tuesday night.

The incident occurred in a parking lot near Weir Road at the University of Saskatchewan at about 10 p.m.

The man was walking away from the vehicle, a 2008 Pontiac Torrent, when he was approached from behind by a person who claimed to be armed with a gun, police said in a media release. He was then struck by the suspect and knocked to the ground before the suspect stole the vehicle.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A description of the suspect is not available, police said.
