More than 30 children’s basketball wheelchairs have been stolen in Saskatoon, according to the Saskatchewan Wheelchair Sports Association.
A trailer containing 34 wheelchairs and other equipment was found missing Monday from a parking lot at the John G. Remai Centre, which is home to the SWSA in Saskatoon. The trailer was likely taken some time between July 28 and July 30, the association said in a media release.
The chairs and equipment in the trailer were designated for the association’s mini wheelchair basketball program.
The trailer is described as a silver 2006 Royal Trailer with Saskatchewan licence plate 859 HDN. The wheelchairs, Quickie All Court chairs, are orange and black and each value at $4,000.
The association is hoping the public can help locate the missing trailer and chairs.
