The latest candidate to join the race for Saskatoon mayor is making a unique promise.

Clay Mazurkewich says if elected he will donate a quarter of his salary to local charities.

Mazurkewich says he is taking a break from his job as a purchasing and warehouse consultant to campaign.

While he says his platform won't be released until next Tuesday, he made it clear that his focus will be on the construction of a north bridge and improving roads.

"I'm working for you; I’m not working for myself. When I say I give up 25 per cent of my salary, which means I’m giving back to my community and I will fix the streets as I promised."
