A 27-year-old woman is facing a manslaughter charge in connection with a sudden death in Sucker River, Sask.

RCMP were called to the northern Saskatchewan community shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday. A 51-year-old Montreal Lake man, since identified as Howard Roberts, was found dead when police arrived.

An autopsy is set for Monday in Saskatoon, Mounties said in a media release. The RCMP’s major crimes north unit is still investigating the death alongside Prince Albert RCMP officers, members of the Prince Albert and Tisdale forensic identification teams, and the coroner’s office.

The accused, from Sucker River, was arrested Saturday without incident. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday morning in La Ronge.

Sucker River is located about 30 kilometres north of La Ronge. Montreal Lake is about 100 kilometres north of Prince Albert.
