A man struggling to place his sick elderly father into long-term care has won his battle.

Tom Armstrong recently appealed a decision that stated his 95-year-old father, Roy, did not meet the Saskatoon Health Region’s standards for long-term care.

His father, a veteran who has had multiple heart attacks and suffers from bone, prostate and bladder cancer, was moved Friday to long-term care at City Hospital.

The move comes after CTV Saskatoon and other media reported last week the difficulties Armstrong was facing trying to find long-term care for his father.

Armstrong thanked everyone who showed support for his father on social media following the media reports.
