The man responsible for shooting another man in the head in Saskatoon has been sentenced.

Wray Lyle Musqua pleaded guilty to possession of a loaded prohibited weapon and was sentenced to four years in a federal penitentiary.

In June of 2010, Musqua unintentionally shot Brandon Davidson in the head with a 22-caliber pistol. The injury has left the 22-year-old confined to a wheelchair.

The crown prosecutor in the case says Musqua found a pistol and ammunition at a park earlier that week. He then took the small revolver to a party at the victim's house. Musqua was drunk and stoned on ecstasy at the time of the shooting.

"This was accidental. We don't believe there was any intention that Musqua meant to shoot anyone, but he did bring a loaded gun to a party," says the prosecutor Frank Impey.
