A Saskatoon man has admitted to stabbing a woman to death outside a city bar in June 2011.
Jordan Smith, 23, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at the start of his preliminary hearing on Monday.
Smith says he accidentally stabbed 25-year-old Leticia Fleury during a fight outside a bar on Fairlight Drive.
Court heard Fleury was trying to break up a fight between smith and two other men when she was stabbed in the leg severing a main artery.
Fleury was smith's ex- sister-in-law.
Smith was sentenced to five years and 3 months in prison, with the sentence reduced to four years after credit for time spent in jail while awaiting trial.
