RCMP are still investigating after a 29-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup truck on a First Nation northwest of Prince Albert.

Mounties were called to the collision, which occurred on the Big River First Nation, around 9:45 p.m. Monday. RCMP said in a media release that a truck hit a person in dark clothing lying on a road. The driver braked but failed to avoid the crash.

The 29-year-old died at the scene. The driver was charged with operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s licence.

Big River First Nation is located 120 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.
